This little guy was so wonderfully pleasant… from blanket to prop, to mom and dad’s arms, and back to a blanket again , he would just nuzzle in and resettle so peacefully.
Ok, and here’s the proof to answer the question in my subject – isn’t this the biggest newborn smile you have ever seen?

Sweet little Ashley has set the record as my youngest newborn to date. At just 4 adorable days old, she was the most pleasantly peaceful baby I have ever worked with. I have to admit though, that typically I like to wait until day 6 or 7. This gives the baby a few days for their head to round out, their arms and legs to fill in just a touch, and gives them just a little bit more strength to hold the poses in which I place them. Ashley didn’t care about any of that though – she was perfect, strong as can be, and ready to go. Oh, and take one look at those cute little cheeks… she didn’t need a few days to fill those out either! I have never seen cheeks so adorable and pinchable on a brand new baby! Fred and Jody – many congratulations to you on the birth of your (second!) beautiful daughter!
